Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction is a fairly common procedure. Among children, they’re extracted to allow the permanent teeth to erupt. And among adults, they’re done to remove decaying teeth. Wisdom tooth extraction is also common. Your teeth are encased inside tooth sockets in the jaw bone and are held together with the help of ligaments. Extraction involves loosening these sockets so that the tooth can be separated from the ligaments holding them. This procedure is done quickly and under anesthesia. The dentist may recommend filling the gap left by the extracted tooth to prevent complications.
